10 Great Audiobooks to Add to your List

audiobooks

For reading audiobooks, I strongly suggest getting a subscription to Scribd. It’s $9.99 a month, and you can read/hear as many books as you want, unlike audible, which gives you limited titles for a higher fee.

I love reading audiobooks during long road trips. Here are some of the best ones I’ve read over the last two years. I’m sure you will enjoy them too. If you have any that you have read or heard that are not on the list, please feel free to enter in the comments.

The Power of Purpose – Les Brown – Great Audiobooks

Les Brown is one of the best motivational speakers in the 21st-century. He has slowed down a bit to take better care of his health, but he is still just as powerful as ever. In this audio, he takes you to church sans religion and offers numerous ways to build your self-esteem and confidence and have more in your life. Here is a. No one has replaced him yet, and he speaks words to power. You owe it to yourself to add this to your audiobook must-read list. (I just noticed that the word read could be current or past tense depending on how it is announced)

How Not to Die – Michael Gregor MD – Great Audiobooks

This title might be surprising considering that we read many titles on how to live; it would appear How Not to Die would be a contradiction, but it makes more sense.

This audiobook is excellent because it talks about how the fork is the most dangerous weapon on the planet and how what we eat determines our fate, health, and longevity. I’ve read this book several times and plan to reread it on another trip. It gives precise information on why we eat the wrong processed foods that we do and how to get away from it

The Power of the Subconscious Mind – Joseph Murphy – Great Audiobooks

We are entirely able to program our brains. The Power of The Subconscious Mind is here to show you precisely how you can change the way you think and change your life. You can change the way you live your life by training your subconscious mind to plant more positive, uplifting actionable, and motivational thoughts instead of defeating thoughts. This is a great read.

The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck – Mark Manson

This book was referred to me by a friend, and initially, I was not too fond of the voiceover. Still, I had to get past that and understand the book’s message. We do care too much about many things that don’t matter, including what other people think of us. This book tells us about many of those things and how we can avoid worry and frustration when trying to control things we cannot control.

The Laws of Money – Suze Orman – Great Audiobooks

I’m disappointed that there is only one Suze Orman audiobook on the site. It is an excellent book that talks about money and its effects, and her amitting to lying about money and how that can create lies and turmoil in our lives.

It’s beyond a money book, it’s also a motivational book, and Susie hits many nails on the head. I’ve read many of her books, but this one’s very different and comes from a more psychological perspective. I love the fact that

The 48 Laws of Power – Robert Greene

This book never gets old, and while specific laws seem very manipulative and others seem too light, some seem perfect for the times we live in today.

I have my favorites, but at the end of the day, this is the kind of book that you go back every couple of years and read again. It’s like a refre

30 Passive Income Ideas – Daryl James

Being an entrepreneur is the final frontier for black folks, especially black men, to hold a position without a glass ceiling. This book gives 30 great ideas on how you can make extra money on the side and still keep your job simultaneously or go full-time. Everybody’s not meant to be an entrepreneur, but you never know until you try.

Once you get a steady income, there’s usually no turning back. Do yourself a favor and listen to this book for some great ideas and insight and how you can start a business. James comes from a music industry background.

As a Man Thinketh – James Allen

We may not be ready to discover a painful reality here. But the truth is in the title As a Man Thinketh (So Is He). It is a combination of our thoughts that create who we are and could be good or bad. This book explores how to alter our beliefs which vary our conditions that change our thinking.

This is another book that you might want to read again in a couple of years. The great thing is they are all in audiobook format.
