Denver, Colorado – A mass shooting occurred early Tuesday in Denver, resulting in ten people being injured, according to the police. The incident took place in an area where basketball enthusiasts had been celebrating the Nuggets’ first NBA title win. The shooting happened at around 12:30 a.m., approximately three and a half hours after the game concluded.

Three of the wounded individuals are currently in critical condition, as stated by the Denver Police Department. Authorities have apprehended a male suspect, who is among the seven people with injuries deemed non-life-threatening.

The shooting took place approximately one mile away from Ball Arena, where the Nuggets emerged victorious against the Miami Heat on Monday night.

“As far as what led up to this altercation that resulted in the shots being fired, that’s still under investigation at this time,” police spokesperson Doug Schepman said. “It did occur in the area where we had the largest gathering of folks celebrating during the night.”

The vicinity was taped off, and evidence markers were present at the site of the incident. According to reports, there was a small crowd present in the area when the shooting occurred, although it had significantly dwindled by that time. The shooting took place in an area where many individuals might have exited bars following the game.

Police were actively interviewing witnesses, and the ongoing investigation was described as extensive by Schepman. Source.
