On February 8, 4.9 million units of Fabuloso Multi-Purpose Cleaners were recalled after environmental organisms called Pseudomonas species bacteria were found in the product.
If inhaled, Pseudomonas species bacteria can cause severe infections in those that suffer from weakened immune systems and lung conditions. Infections may even require medical attention.
The bacteria is said to enter the body through the eyes, breaks in the skin, and inhalation.
The recall includes several types of Fabuloso Multi-Purpose Cleaners. These include products sold on online retail websites like Walmart, Dollar General, and Amazon.
According to Colgate-Palmolive Company, the recalled products were produced between December 14 and January 23. The company says about 3.9 million of those bottles were never released for sale.
The release sent out by the CPSC expressed that those with healthy immune systems likely will not be affected by the bacteria.
Consumers are encouraged to stop using the recalled Fabuloso Multi-Purpose Cleaner products and to contact Colgate-Palmolive Company for a full refund or free replacement product.
The full consumer recall list with instructions on how to dispose of the product and how to receive a refund can be found online at: www.fabulosorecall.com.
Product lot codes are located on the back of each bottle of Fabuloso right above the label or towards the top of the bottle.
To receive a full refund or replacement product, consumers should take a picture of the product’s UPC and lot code before completing the voluntary Fabuloso Recall Submission.
