A Louisiana grandmother was arrested in connection with the death of her 4-year-old granddaughter after allegedly forcing the young girl to drink an entire bottle of whiskey.
On April 21, Baton Rouge Police were was called to a residence after reports of an unresponsive toddler.
According to WAFB, the East Baton Rouge Coroner’s Office found that acute alcohol poisoning was the cause of 4-year-old China Record’s death.
At the time of her death, China had a blood alcohol level of .680, more than eight times the legal drinking limit for a driver.
During the investigation of the situation, the authorities discovered that the victim’s grandmother, Roxanne Record, 55, had allegedly forced her granddaughter to drink an entire bottle of whiskey as her mother, Kadjah Record, watched on.
An arrest warrant revealed that China’s mother and grandmother became angry with the toddler after
Roxanne and Kadjah Record currently face charges of first-degree homicide in connection with the toddler’s death.
Investigations are ongoing.
