Corteon Moore, Chloe Avakian, Carson MacCormac Join Anova Pictures

Anova Pictures today announced that Corteon Moore (“From”), Chloe Avakian (“John Wayne Gacy,” “Locke & Key”), and Carson MacCormac (upcoming Clown in a Cornfield, Shazam!, “My Life With The Walter Boys”) have joined the exciting ensemble cast of This is Not a Test from director Adam MacDonald. The highly anticipated horror-thriller is based on the acclaimed YA novel by New York Times bestselling author Courtney Summers and production for the film began in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.

Moore, Avakian, and MacCormac join previously announced cast members Olivia Holt, Froy Gutierrez, and Luke MacFarlane. 

This is Not a Test follows Sloane and four other students who take cover in Cortege High to escape a world plagued by the infected. As danger relentlessly pounds on the doors, Sloane begins to see the world through the eyes of people who actually want to live and takes matters into her own hands.

Cybill Lui is producing the film under her Anova Pictures banner, with Adam Macdonald. Blue Fox Entertainment has acquired all international rights across non-English-speaking territories and Canada. 

Corteon Moore is a rising actor currently appearing as a series regular on the Russo Brother’s produced MGM+ series, “From”. Corteon will next be seen starring as a supporting role in the anticipated A24/Amazon series, “Overcompensating”. Prior, he trained daily in theater, developing techniques in the dramatic arts, vocal ability and movement before expanding into the world of film and television while training closely with esteemed director and acting coach, Lewis Baumander. 

Chloe Avakian is an actress best known for her recurring roles in Peacock’s “John Wayne Gacy” and Netflix’s “Locke & Key,” as well as her starring role in Canadian series “Near or Far.” She was born in New York, New York and graduated from Rosedale Heights School of the Arts in Toronto, Canada. 

Carson MacCormac is an actor, writer and producer best known for his supporting role in the hit DC Comics superhero movies Shazam and Shazam 2! Fury of the Gods. Other notable film credits include East of Middle West, Giant Little Ones, Riot Girls, Luckiest Girl Alive, Where Did The Adults Go?, and the upcoming horror film Clown in a Cornfield for RLJE Films and Shudder, which will premiere at SXSWSelect TV credits include “Locke and Key,” “October Faction,” both for Netflix, and he is currently shooting a major recurring role on season 2 of the hit Netflix series “My Life with the Walter Boys”.
