102.9 KBLX DJ ARMAND CARR NAMED 2017 JEFFERSON AWARD PERSON OF THE YEAR

 

rfocus.org102.9 KBLX/SF host of The Quiet Storm, Armand Carr was named the 2017 Jefferson Award person of the year (regionally) for his work in the community as the founder of All Tied Up, which was created in August of 2016. This initiative is designed to provide positive male support to youth in Bay Area communities. What initially started as a one-day tie drive for students at a Richmond High School has now blossomed into a program to reduce high-risk behaviors among youth by building self-love and self-respect. This award qualifies Armand for the National Jefferson Award.

One of the founders of The Jefferson Awards Foundation was Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. Their mission is to empower others to have maximum impact on the things they care about most. Each year, winners are selected from across the country based on their exceptional community engagement.

KBLX Operations Manager, elroy smith added “Armand Carr is one of the most genuine people I know. His passion and commitment to helping the youth of The Bay Area are stellar. He is selfless in his approach and committed to furthering this initiative which deserves the accolades and recognition it’s receiving in the Bay Area.
