Multi-platinum, award-winning artist Lil Nas X, also known as Montero Hill, has released a new single titled “J CHRIST,” his first in two years. The track, available through Columbia Records, was co-written by Lil Nas X, Omer Fedi, Mike Levy [Gesaffelstein], and Blake Slatkin, and produced by Fedi, Gesaffelstein, and Lil Nas X himself.
The song’s release marks a new chapter in Lil Nas X’s career, symbolizing DAY ZERO of this era. The official video for “J CHRIST” serves as Lil Nas X’s solo directorial debut and is based on a story he wrote. It features a blend of subversive elements and depicts Nas overcoming both heavenly and hellish challenges, ultimately choosing a path of faith. This path is a unique expression of his spirituality, acknowledging his past, including a nod to his iconic video for “MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name).”

The video was shot in Mexico City and involved production collaboration with SixTwentySix and Habitant Productions, with visual effects by Mathematic. Its premiere featured numerous celebrity appearances.
