Returning to BET Networks for the seventh consecutive year on Saturday, February 1, 2020, the 21st Annual Super Bowl Gospel Celebration will be hosted by national radio and TV personality Rickey Smiley. The annual NFL-Sanctioned event hosted a press conference at the James L. Knight Center on Wednesday afternoon with special guests Melanie Few (Founder, Super Bowl Gospel Celebration); Pamela Taylor (Head of Branding & Strategy, Super Bowl Gospel Celebration), Mayor Oliver Gilbert (City of Miami Gardens, Arthur McAfee (Senior Vice President of Player Engagement, NFL), Rashad Thomas (Vice President of Business Connect and Community Outreach, Miami Host Committee), Sheri Barros (American Cancer Society) and Freddie Figgers (Figgers Wireless). 2020 show performers Commissioned, Anthony Brown& Group Therapy, Melvin Crispell III and the NFL Players Choir were in attendance to give welcome remarks.
In collaboration with the Super Bowl Gospel Celebration and BET Networks, the American Cancer Society will be featured in an impact moment during the broadcast to share the critical importance of their mission, while giving viewers a chance to donate. The one-hour special will feature performances by the NFL Players Choir, an exclusive reunion of the legendary group Commissioned, Donnie McClurkin, Yolanda Adams, Anthony Brown& Group Therapy, Travis Greene and BET Sunday Best Winners Le’Andria Johnson (Season 3) and Melvin Crispell III (Season 9). This year’s Super Bowl Gospel Honorees are NFL Players/brothers and American Cancer Society ambassadors Quinnen Williams (New York Jets) and Quincy Williams (Jacksonville Jaguars).
