Starting December 1, Michigan sports fans will have a new home for live talk, analysis, and local coverage with the debut of 97.1 Detroit Sports Radio Network. The statewide platform, produced and distributed by Audacy, will be anchored by 97.1 The Ticket (WXYT-FM) in Detroit and will connect sports audiences across Michigan.

The network will serve as a unified hub for coverage of Detroit’s major teams and statewide sports conversations, expanding access to content previously limited to metro Detroit listeners.
The initial group of affiliate stations includes:
Grand Rapids – WFGR (98.7 FM)
Lansing – WJIM (1240 AM)
Battle Creek – WBCK (95.3 FM)
Kalamazoo – WKMI (1360 AM)
Roscommon – WGRY (101.1 FM)
More affiliates will be added in the coming months as the network continues its statewide rollout.
Audacy’s Debbie Kenyon, Senior Vice President and Market Manager for Detroit, said the move reflects the company’s long-term investment in Michigan sports. She emphasized the goal of “expanding our footprint across the state” and providing consistent, high-quality programming to fans everywhere.
The collaboration also involves Townsquare Media, whose Chief Operating Officer Erik Hellum described the partnership as a “big win” for both audiences and advertisers. He praised 97.1 The Ticket as “one of America’s truly great sports stations.”
Listeners can expect a strong weekday lineup of established shows featuring some of Detroit’s most recognizable sports voices:
6 a.m. – 10 a.m.: Costa & Jansen with Heather
10 a.m. – 2 p.m.: The Karsch & Anderson Show
