Horror Fans Rejoice: Eli Roth’s ‘Ice Cream Man’ Is Coming

Eli Roth is set to bring his chilling vision to the big screen with Ice Cream Man, a terrifying new film that promises to deliver the horror fans have been waiting for. The film stars Ari Millen (best known for Orphan Black) as the titular character, the ice cream man whose sweet treats take a dark turn in a small, idyllic summer town.

The stellar cast also includes Benjamin Byron Davis (Guardians of the Galaxy 3), Karen Cliche (Thanksgiving), Dylan Hawco (Heartland), Sarah Abbott (Black Mirror, The Body), Shiloh O’Reilly (Thanksgiving), and Charlie Zeltzer (The Handmaid’s Tale).

In a surprising turn, Eli Roth, the creator behind iconic horror franchises like Cabin Fever, Hostel, and Thanksgiving, not only directs and produces but also stars in the film. Roth co-wrote the script with longtime collaborator Noah Belson, which received tremendous buzz at its Cannes market debut, quickly selling out nearly the entire world.

Alongside Roth’s directorial and writing expertise, the film boasts an impressive production team. Christopher Woodrow and Raj Singh of Media Capital Technologies (MCT) produced, with Kate Harrison of Cream Productions joining them. The film’s executive producers include MCT’s Kevin Frakes, Connor DiGregorio, Eli Massillon, and Lorenzo Antonucci, and The Horror Section’s Jon Schnaars and Holly Adams.

Music plays a key role in Ice Cream Man’s horrifying atmosphere. The score is composed by Emmy Award®-winning Brandon Roberts, with additional tracks by none other than Snoop Dogg. The film also features the disturbing prosthetic makeup effects of Steve Newburn and Academy Award® winner Adrien Morot, both of whom worked on Thanksgiving.

The plot of Ice Cream Man revolves around a seemingly innocent ice cream man whose sweet confections take a deadly and horrifying turn as the town descends into chaos.

Principal photography wrapped in September, with a wide theatrical release planned for 2026. International rights are represented by WME Independent, while domestic rights are handled by The Horror Section. Distribution rights have already been secured by STUDIOCANAL’s Sixth Dimension for the UK, Germany, France, Benelux, Poland, Australia, and New Zealand.

For Roth, the film is a long-time dream come true. “I couldn’t be more excited about the incredible cast we’ve assembled for Ice Cream Man,” Roth said. “It’s surreal to see the idea I’ve had for over twenty years come to life – and with this insanely talented cast, we get to deliver a film to horror fans that’s as terrifying as I’ve always imagined.”

Ice Cream Man marks the first film under Roth’s new banner, The Horror Section, which was launched in March 2025. Founded in partnership with MCT, The Horror Section is set to become a powerhouse in horror entertainment, with plans to own and control a library of genre-defining films, TV series, games, and podcasts.

Upcoming projects include Don’t Go In That House, Bitch!, with Snoop Dogg as producer, writer, and performer on the original soundtrack.
