NAB Board Welcomes Rodriguez, Schnaars, and Warshaw to Leadership Roles

NAB Expands Board with New Media Executives

The National Association of Broadcasters has announced the addition of three prominent media executives to its board of directors. Veronica Rodriguez, Matt Schnaars, and Jeff Warshaw will bring their extensive industry experience to the NAB, bolstering its leadership in both television and radio sectors.

Veronica Rodriguez, who serves as executive vice president, co-general counsel, and corporate secretary at TelevisaUnivision, joins the NAB’s television board. She fills a seat previously held by Pilar Ramos of TelevisaUnivision. Rodriguez has been instrumental in the significant merger between Televisa and Univision Communications, and her background includes a successful career as a mergers and acquisitions lawyer in New York. Recognized multiple times as a leading M&A attorney, she is also active in industry leadership roles, including her involvement with the Cyrus R. Vance Center.

Joining Rodriguez on the television board is Matt Schnaars, the president of platform distribution and partnerships for NBCUniversal. Schnaars brings a wealth of experience from his previous role as president of NBCUniversal Content Distribution, where he played a key role in the launch of the streaming service Peacock. His career also includes significant positions at The Walt Disney Company, where he worked on national accounts for ESPN and Disney networks. Schnaars is an active participant in various industry organizations and holds an MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business.

Jeff Warshaw, founder and CEO of Connoisseur Media, steps into the radio board as the District 24 representative, filling the position previously held by Bob Proffitt, CEO of Alpha Media. Warshaw has a notable background in radio, having built Connoisseur into one of the largest radio companies in the U.S., with operations spanning over 200 stations and covering approximately 20% of the country. His early career began at the Wharton School of Business, and he has since led two successful broadcast companies. Furthermore, he is currently chair of the Nielsen Audio Advisory Council and has recently concluded his term as chair of the Radio Advertising Bureau board.

The addition of these executives reflects the NAB’s commitment to strengthening its influence and guidance in the evolving landscape of broadcasting. As the industry continues to adapt to new technologies and consumer preferences, the expertise of Rodriguez, Schnaars, and Warshaw will be invaluable in shaping the future of both television and radio.

With these appointments, the NAB is poised to enhance its role in advocating for the interests of its members and addressing the challenges faced by the industry, particularly in the realm of radio.
