10 Things That You Can do to Remain Optimistic During the Crisis

Radio Facts:

Without question, we are experiencing some very tough times right now and the truth is, we have to protect our well being in any way possible. Not just our physical well being but our mental state as well. Here are a few tips to help you manage until things get better.

Stay off of Facebook.

If you HAVE to go on there be sure to put everyone’s profile to sleep who constantly give death updates and doom and gloom news. There are many people who thrive on spreading negative and bad news and while it may be true, it’s draining and can send you spiraling into the land of what-ifs. You don’t have to be in denial but don’t spend too much time on shit that you can’t control.

Turn off the News

The news outlets THRIVE off of dwelling on the same story for 20 years for ratings. Right now, they are selling fear to keep you tuned in and if you keep watching you will be buying a big bag of it. Sure they have to do their job but your job is not to absorb all that negativity repeated with the same story, with panelists giving their opinions and the doom being dragged out for hours on end. You will be drained, tired and depressed after watching not to mention, feel completely hopeless about the situation.

Binge Watch Your Favorite Shows

There are SO many options right now from apps and providers many who have opened up their locked shows for us to watch. There is much MORE on TV than the news.

Watch Who You Talk to on the Phone

Many people don’t know where their next meal is coming from and they are scared. I’m not sure what your situation is but the best thing that we call can do is something that has been lost on us for eons. Living in the now. Sure things can change in an instant but… newsflash … that’s ALWAYS been the case. Take one day at a time and if you feel like you are going to be late paying bills let them know instead of ignoring the situation.

Go to OTHER Grocery Stores Outside of the Main Brands

While people are waiting in lines at stores like Ralphs and Krogers to get into the store, other grocery stores don’t have lines and a lot fewer people and you can get in and out quickly

Read a Book?

Isn’t that something that many of us have not done in a looooog time, it’s true the more that you read the more intelligent and enlightened you become. I was just telling someone that the reviews on Self Made (Madam C.J. Walker story) have been really bad especially for Tiffany Haddish. They say a lot is missing that was in the book, so I’m going to get the book and read it this weekend. Not an audiobook but the actual book (well the digital version).

What is it that you have been holding off on in your residence?

Cleaning out some old boxes, getting clothes ready for the Goodwill, cleaning out your fridge or rearranging your furniture or putting together that stand that’s been sitting in the corner for months? There is always something to do where we live, even if it’s to catch up on our rest.

Go for a Long Walk

If the weather is permitting were you live, this will certainly give you peace of mind and get your steps in for exercise. You don’t have to be stuck in the house because everything is closed.

We can all take a closer look at how we are spending our money as well as how we can save.
