iHeartMedia San Diego’s eight radio stations participated in the seventh annual iHeart Rady Children’s Giveathon in partnership with Rady Children’s Hospital–San Diego on Wednesday, December 11 and Thursday, December 12.
Channel 93.3, ROCK 105.3, Star 94.1, 101.5 KGB, JAM’N 95.7, Newsradio 600 KOGO, San Diego Sports 760 and The Patriot AM 1360 broadcasted live from their studios each day of the Giveathon between 6 a.m. – 6 p.m. During the broadcasts, station personalities interviewed former patients, physicians and the parents and families of patients currently being treated at the hospital, who shared their stories and experiences with station listeners.
Over the course of the two-day Giveathon, $437,264 in donations was raised by iHeartRadio San Diego station listeners who made their contributions via phone, text and an online portal. Many listener donations were matched by local businesses, families and individuals.
“The generosity of our listeners will help ensure that every child gets the best care possible, right here in our community,” said Noreen Ippolito, Market President for iHeartMedia San Diego.
Donations made to Rady Children’s Hospital help fund lifesaving technology and research, provide a safety net for children with little or no private medical insurance and create a healing environment for patients and their families.
iHeartMedia is the leading media outlet in the San Diego market with multiple platforms, including its broadcast stations; live events; data; and its digital businesses and platforms, including mobile, social and its own iHeartRadio, iHeartMedia’s free all-in-one digital music, podcasting and live streaming radio service – available across more than 500 platforms and over 2,000 devices including smart speakers, digital auto dashes, tablets, wearables, smartphones, virtual assistants, televisions and gaming consoles.
