This past weekend, The Drive’s morning show hosts Sherman & Tingle and Afternoon host Janda welcomed Chicago’s pet lovers to their eighth annual “Operation: Santa Paws.” Over $34,000 in pet food, supplies, and cash was raised, including two weeks of online donations and two live show/donation events at Jewel Osco in Palatine and Naperville.
97.1 FM The Drive joined forces with Chicago’s Anti-Cruelty—a local organization that helps thousands of pets and their humans every year through adoptions, veterinary programs, investigation and rescue, behavior support, education, and more—to collect food, new toys, and cash donations for animals without homes or families for the holidays.
The Sherman & Tingle Show commented, “Another year, another astonishing turnout by Driver Nation! Being associated with such charitable people in the Chicago area is a privilege. Combined with the fact that we could partner with a remarkable organization like Anti-Cruelty, participating in this annual event is an enormous pleasure for us.”
“Anti-Cruelty is grateful for the generosity of all those who donated as part of Operation: Santa Paws, including the match challenge from FREE Pet Cremation.
The gifts and donations significantly help sick, injured, and vulnerable animals in our care this holiday season,” says Darlene Duggan, President of Anti-Cruelty. “Thank you to The Drive and all their listeners for their support in helping us build a more humane Chicago for pets and people.”
