UNDERLAND: Sandra Hüller-Narrated Doc, Prod. Darren Aronofsky

UNDERLAND is a cinematic documentary inspired by Robert Macfarlane’s bestselling book, offering a rare glimpse into the world beneath our feet. This poetic exploration takes us on a journey to places few have seen, from ancient caves and flooded storm drains to melting glaciers and an underground laboratory studying the universe’s mysteries.

Narrated by Oscar-nominated Sandra Hüller, the film showcases the adventures of “astronauts of the underworld,” uncovering hidden realms of knowledge and wonder. With stunning cinematography by Ruben Woodin Dechamps and a haunting score by Hannah Peel, UNDERLAND presents a groundbreaking vision for how we might rethink our existence on this fragile Earth.

The film is directed by Robert Petit and produced by Darren Aronofsky, Ari Handel, Lauren Greenwood, and Jessica Harrop, with executive producers including André Singer, Figs Jackman, Robert Macfarlane, and others. UNDERLAND will have its world premiere at the 2025 Tribeca Festival in the Documentary Competition.
