Tuned Global offers a new Social Radio experience — turning listeners into creators

In an era where digital connectivity shapes our daily interactions, the fusion of social media and music streaming has become a pivotal trend. Tuned Global’s innovative Social Radio technology, offers users a seamless blend of social engagement and personalised music experiences. By integrating real-time social features within a radio experience, Social Radio is redefining how audiences discover and enjoy music, building a more interactive and community-driven listening environment.

What Instagram is for image sharing and TikTok is for videos, Social Radio is for radio broadcasting. It opens new ways for deeper engagement, creative interaction, and community building in digital radio and audio streaming.

Social Radio lets creators — whether listeners, artists or radio DJs — tap and launch an interactive experience, drawing on a business’ music catalogue. Tuned Global uses its proprietary AutomixIQ technology to seamlessly transition from track to track. The creator can then weave voice commentary and sound effects into their curated mix, and listeners can react with comments and emojis.

These features transform the current experience on radio broadcasting apps and Digital Streaming Services (DSPs) from passive to engaged community members — thanks to the social, interactive layer that makes people listen more, come back often and discover more music. This increased engagement leads to new monetisation opportunities, including digital ads, premium tiers, and more.

“We see the future of Social Radio as an extension of an existing music service or radio station,” explains Con Raso, Tuned Global’s Managing Director. “Stand-alone approaches like Clubhouse demonstrated the opportunity but have proven tricky to sustain, as it’s really about the content, being the consistent stream of quality audio.

Social audio is best suited to existing music apps where the audience is already listening to music and podcasts and radio operators who want to differentiate their digital product and boost user engagement. When you already have the content side sorted, and then add fun interactive features that can engage an existing audience, you have something truly special.”

Social Radio is an SDK that can be easily integrated into an existing app and can handle thousands of simultaneous broadcasts, ensuring customers will have the scale they need. The experience blends the best of terrestrial broadcast and online streams into one easy package.

“We want to power the imagination of seasoned broadcasters, music lovers and tech innovators alike,” says Raso. “We’ve built in a great deal of flexibility, you can choose to turn features on or off, depending on your audience and needs. You can personalise the platform and the features that are relevant. You can create special, customisable effects like a professional DJ. In short, you can express yourself and create the experience you know your listeners will love.”
