Houston Property at Center of Global Surrogacy Scam: Forged Deeds Uncovered

In the quiet outskirts of northeast Houston, a five-acre property thick with trees and overgrown vegetation has become the unlikely center of a worldwide surrogacy escrow scandal. The property, once bought in 2018 with funds intended for surrogates, has been swept into a legal battle following a series of alleged forged deed transfers.

Surrogacy Escrow Scandal: Houston Land Tied to Alleged Fraud Scheme

The property, initially purchased by Houston-based Surrogacy Escrow Account Management (SEAM), was meant to support families yearning for children. Instead, their hopes turned to despair as payments to surrogates ceased in mid-June, coinciding with the company’s abrupt financial collapse. Owned by Dominique Side, SEAM is now under intense scrutiny as families from across the globe allege fraud.

Fraudulent Deed Transfers Exposed in Houston Surrogacy Scandal

Court documents reveal that the property was transferred twice in quick succession—first to Side’s business partner, Anthony Hall, and then to Helen Yancy, a business associate, in July. Hall’s attorney, Victoria Broussard, vehemently denies Hall’s involvement, stating, “My client did not sign that deed. Period.” Broussard claims Hall’s signature was forged, a statement corroborated by his presence in court at the time of the transfer.

Global Surrogacy Scam: Houston Land Linked to Forged Property Transfers

The property transfer occurred despite a judicial order freezing assets linked to SEAM, including the disputed land. As Yancy’s name appeared on more properties across Harris County, homeowners found themselves embroiled in a nightmare they never anticipated: their deeds had been transferred without their knowledge or consent.

Houston Attorney Claims Forged Deeds in Surrogacy Escrow Controversy

The notary public whose stamp appears on the questionable deeds claims involvement in only one previous transaction with Yancy, months before the current controversy. He expressed bafflement at the reuse of his notary stamp, suggesting further foul play.

Worldwide Surrogacy Victims Entangled in Houston Property Fraud

Yancy, when questioned, insisted the transfers were legitimate, stating, “The land was payment for my consulting services… I got them millions of dollars in loans.” However, her credibility is under attack as more affected homeowners come forward.

As the legal battle intensifies, Hall has taken steps to cooperate, aiming to rectify the situation and prevent further unauthorized transfers. Meanwhile, Side, who is accused of misappropriating funds to support a lavish lifestyle and bankroll her music career, remains elusive, with court filings suggesting she is in negotiations with the FBI.

Global Scandal Hits Houston: Surrogacy Funds Misused in Property Fraud

The saga has attracted global attention, with victims stretching from the U.S. West Coast to Dubai, all out tens of thousands of dollars. The unfolding drama continues to captivate the public, raising questions about how such a massive scheme could go unnoticed for so long and what the future holds for the victims still waiting for justice.
