BMI is thrilled to celebrate the best in songwriting at the 2024 BMI R&B/Hip-Hop Awards. GRAMMY award winning songwriter, producer and executive Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds will be named a BMI Icon and GRAMMY award winning superstar SZA will be presented with the BMI Champion Award in celebration of their impressive careers and talents.
The songwriters behind some of the year’s biggest hits such as “FukUMean,” “I Know ?,” “Kill Bill,” “Love You Better,” “Players,” “Slut Me Out,” and “Superhero (Heroes & Villains),” among others, are expected to be in attendance including Babyface, Rob Bisel, Earlonthebeat, Gunna, Tay Keith, LunchMoney Lewis, Khris Riddick-Tynes, Karl Rubin, SZA, Toosii and many more. Additional expected guests include Tamar Braxton, Busta Rhymes, Fat Joe, Doug E. Fresh, CeeLo Green, Hit-Boy, Anderson .Paak, Ty Dolla $ign, Wiz Khalifa, Trey Songz, Lil Wayne and more.
The private event will be hosted by BMI President & CEO Mike O’Neill and BMI Vice President, Creative, Atlanta, Catherine Brewton. The 2024 BMI R&B/Hip-Hop Awards will salute the songwriters and publishers of the previous year’s most-performed pop songs in the United States from BMI’s repertoire of more than 22.4 million musical works. BMI’s R&B/Hip-Hop Song of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, Producer of the Year, Publisher of the Year and Top Producers will also be named during the ceremony.
