Lauren Thomas Named SVP at Sony Music Nashville

Sony Music Nashville {SMN} announces today the promotion of Lauren “LT” Thomas to Senior Vice President, Promotion. Thomas previously held the role of Vice President, Columbia Promotion.

In this elevated role, Thomas will have day-to-day oversight of both the RCA and Columbia imprints. She will continue to report to Executive Vice President, Promotion, Steve Hodges and work with him across the roster on all national promotional strategies and initiatives.

Steve Hodges comments, “For the past nine years I have watched LT grow and develop into a strong team leader and industry power player.  Her passion and work ethic are infectious and second to none. 

I’m very proud to see her rise with this well-deserved promotion to Senior Vice President as <a href="she continues to step up and help the overall Sony national representation while continuing to lead the Columbia team.”

Thomas joined Sony Music Nashville in October 2009 and held various roles on the promotion staff during her tenure and scored nearly 80 No. 1 records in her career. 

For the past year two years, Thomas has overseen the promotional efforts for the Columbia Nashville roster and all female staff. During this time, her leaderships scored No. 1’s from Old Dominion, Megan Moroney, Mitchell Tenpenny, and multiple No. 1’s from Luke Combs. 

Most recently, Thomas and team landed Combs his 18th consecutive No. 1 record.  Thomas was also part of the team that helped the overall SMN team earn 3 debut records to hit No. 1 on the country charts (Nate Smith, Corey Kent and Megan Moroney) in just 5 months. Megan being from the Columbia side.  Prior to SMN, Thomas spent 5 years at KMLE-FM in Phoenix.

Thomas has been seen on various industry lists including 2023 Variety Hitmaker, 2022 CRS/Country Aircheck Awards SVP/VP of the year, 2020 Country Aircheck Power 31 recipient, 2019 Billboard 40 Under 40 honoree, and 2018 CRS/Country Aircheck Awards National of the Year.  

Thomas currently resides on the St. Jude Country Cares Label Advisory Board.
