Benny Blanco to Receive BMI President’s Award at 2024 Pop Awards

BMI is excited to announce that hit songwriter, producer and artist benny blanco will be honored with the BMI President’s Award at the 2024 BMI Pop Awards. The evening will celebrate the multi-hyphenate creator’s prolific career which has produced countless songs that resonate with fans worldwide.

The private event, hosted by BMI President & CEO Mike O’Neill and Vice President, Worldwide Creative Barbara Cane, will be held on Tuesday, June 4th at Beverly Wilshire in Beverly Hills, CA.

As a songwriter, record producer, actor, author and artist, benny blanco is renowned for his diverse style and ability to craft chart-topping hits across genres.

He has written and produced hits like “Diamonds” by Rihanna, “Circus” by Britney Spears and “Moves Like Jagger” by Maroon 5 to name just a few.

He has also cultivated an extensive discography, collaborating with top-tier artists like Justin Bieber, Ke$ha, Selena Gomez, SZA, Katy Perry, Ed Sheeran, The Weeknd and many more. 

In 2018, blanco showcased his versatility as a recording artist with his Platinum-certified debut album, FRIENDS KEEP SECRETS, which included the 6x Platinum hit “Eastside,” featuring Halsey and Khalid.

He went on to release his follow-up album, FRIENDS KEEP SECRETS 2, in 2021 featuring the 2x Platinum single “Lonely” with Justin Bieber.

Throughout his career, blanco has amassed 29 #1 songs, a Golden Globe nomination and 11 GRAMMY nominations, including Producer of the Year. In 2013 he received the Hal David Starlight Award from the Songwriters Hall of Fame and won the iHeart Radio Producer of the Year Award in 2017.

Blanco has accumulated 55 BMI Awards, was named Songwriter of the Year four times and won Pop Song of the Year in 2013 for “Moves Like Jagger.” 

In addition to his successful career in music, benny has a passion for cooking and is releasing his first cookbook OPEN WIDE: A Cookbook for Friends, on April 30th.  

In receiving the BMI President’s Award, blanco joins an elite group of previous recipients including Luis Fonsi, Noel Gallagher, Ellie Goulding, Imagine Dragons, Jay Kay of Jamiroquai, Ludacris, P!nk, Willie Nelson, Pitbull, Taylor Swift, Brian Wilson, and Dwight Yoakam, to name a few.
