GRAMMY & SOUL TRAIN AWARD NOMINEE ANTHONY DAVID JOINS J. CARTER TO LEAD SOUL TRAIN FLASH MOB IN ATLANTA MAJOR EVENT TO HONOR DON CORNELIUS!(Atlanta, February 6, 2012) In honor of the late great Don Cornelius, and in the spirit of the Flash Mob Soul Train lines held in NYC and Chicago, Grammy and Soul Train Award Nominated artistAnthony David and Promoter J. Carter (Sol Fusion ENT) are organizing an Atlanta Soul Train Flash Mob for Sunday, Feb 12th at 3pm at Loca Luna, 550-C NE Atlanta, GA 30306.David, who performed several times on Soul Train and was recently nominated in 2011 for a Soul Train Award says “the Black cities, including Atlanta, benefitted greatly from Don Cornelius’ vision, even beyond the fun and great music the show brought into our homes every week. We feel it’s only right for us to show our immense love and appreciation of Don and his legacy after his untimely passing. Atlanta being home to many great Black businesses, including Bronner Brothers hair care products and all the clients of Burrell Communications, Soul Train was a great vehicle for African American economics.”Seeing what was taking place in Chicago and NYC, Anthony David first posed the question on twitter and his Facebook as to why Atlanta wasn’t doing the same? The response he got was overwhelming, yet no one was making it happen so he took it upon himself to organize the event and make sure the love would be shown from his hometown. “I spoke to Ryan Cameron via twitter,” says David, “and he mentioned it on V103, so then I knew that I had to make SURE it happened.” After linking up with Carter, the location was set and the wheels rolled from there. “I thought for sure someone else would be doing it,” add David, “but since they aren’t, I’m more than happy to be a catalyst.”Approaching J. Carter was a natural fit for David- he throws a successful weekly day party at Loca Luna featuring DJ’s and live bands that already brings out thousands. Carter also produces and promotes the huge night life sensation, Sol Fusion, and brings the ONE MUSIC FESTIVAL to town every year. On Sunday, sound will be provided for the SOUL TRAIN Flash Mob from the parking lot of Loca Luna all the way up Amsterdam. According to Carter & David, “Thousands of Atlanta residents from all walks of life are welcome to come and shake it all the way down the Soul Train line, just as Don got us all to do at weddings, family reunions, and gatherings of all kinds.
