Tisakorean’s New Project, MUMU 8818, Out Now (video)

Today, rising star TisaKorean releases his highly-anticipated new project, MUMU 8818 – Listen HERE. The new mixtape was produced by TisaKorean and includes his newest single  “EXXACTLY” – Listen HERE

MUMU 8818

The project is produced by TisaKorean with additional production from Ricky Reed (Lizzo, Camila Cabello), Bryan Yepes and Dale Cheon (Travis Scott, Don Toliver) and more.

The project follows his most recently released singles, “UCCI,” “TTU,” “1500 Shawty,” and “Rando,” which were all met with critical praise with “1500 Shawty” landing on THE FADER’s “Songs You Need in Your Life” roundup, and they will all be featured on the project’s tracklist.

Of today’s release, TisaKorean shared, “MUMU 8818 is simple and easy…more music, more life, MORE SILLY!”

2023 was an exciting year for Tisakorean and he is keeping the momentum going. At the start of the year, he landed on COMPLEX’s PIGEONS & PLANES, “24 Rising Artists to Watch in 2024,” with them heralding him as “incredibly forward-thinking, making music that’s perfectly suited for a generation that’s chronically online” and claiming his “energy is infectious.”

MUMU 8818 follows TisaKorean’s latest LP, Let Me Update My Status, from March of last year. The project was met with critical success with THE FADER placing “uHhH HuH.mp3” in their “Song You Need feature,” raving, “a sultry presence with a charged energy, “uHhH HuH.mp3” may prompt one or two memories, but it’s built with a passion and care that makes it not just transportation or mere channeling, but a continuation.

THE HERALD listed “uHhH HuH.mp3” as one of the “Top 2023 rap songs”, while mentioning “TisaKorean’s obsession with the rap scene of his 2000s youth is endlessly endearing, picking up aesthetically from the snap and baller rap of yesteryear.

Tisa evokes a vibe from when rap was fun and carefree, modernising the era for his young TikTok audience.” While PITCH FORK listed “uHhH HuH.mp3” on their “100 Best Songs of 2023”.

His single, “RANDO,” was met with rave reviews when it landed on BILLBOARD‘s “R&B/Hip-Hop Fresh Picks of the Week”roundup

He also landed on ROLLING STONE‘s “50 Innovators Shaping Rap’s Next 50 Years”, with them heralding, “TisaKorean is a perfect example of an artist who taps into that sensibility naturally.” TisaKorean ended 2023 with a bang when he supported Don Toliver on his The Lovesick EU Tour.
