Fox and Rob Launch #TimeIIWatch Campaign for “TIME II” This Juneteenth (Pics & Video)

Justice advocates Sibil “Fox” and Robert “Rob” Richardson, stars of the Oscar-nominated documentary TIME (2020), have launched the #TimeIIWatch campaign, a powerful initiative designed to amplify the release of their long-awaited sequel, TIME II: Unfinished Business, ahead of its Juneteenth debut.

The campaign, titled A Juneteenth Campaign for Freedom, transforms the film into a tool for activism, calling on 1 million people to join a revolutionary watch party that goes beyond a typical premiere, mobilizing collective action to continue the fight for freedom that began with Juneteenth.

The initiative is inspired by the motto, “To Be Free is to Free Others,” and seeks to spark a nationwide movement for systemic justice. It invites people to take part in a unique experience, combining art and activism to confront issues such as mass incarceration and excessive sentencing.

Fox Rich, who makes her directorial debut with TIME II, reflects on how her personal journey of fighting for justice has evolved into a battle for others’ freedom. She states, “If TIME was the cry, TIME II is the call. This project is a call to action that exposes the flaws in our justice system and challenges the ongoing injustices that continue to enslave us.”

Rob Rich, who spent 21 years at Louisiana’s Angola prison, adds, “This isn’t about algorithms or streaming royalties—it’s about people power. Freedom isn’t free, and this campaign asks people to invest not only their time but their voices.”

TIME II: Unfinished Business explores Rob’s release from Angola and the continued struggle for justice, focusing on their nephew, Ontario, who remains unjustly imprisoned. The film chronicles Fox and Rob’s relentless commitment to free their nephew and fulfill a sacred promise made to Rob’s sister to bring her son home.

Set to release on Juneteenth, the film reimagines the celebration of emancipation by addressing modern-day forms of bondage and exposing the loophole in the 13th Amendment. The campaign positions Juneteenth as a moment for national reflection, connecting past struggles to present-day injustices.

The initiative also features the first-ever national watch party, offering a full screening of the film along with roundtable discussions. The campaign invites individuals, groups, and organizations to participate by registering for the event, with each registration priced at $24.99. Group and family options are also available, encouraging localized discussions around the film’s powerful message.

Fox and Rob are also committed to making a lasting impact through their partnership with the Amistad Research Center, the nation’s oldest and largest independent-held Black archive. $1 from each watch party registration will be donated to support the Amistad, with a goal of raising $1 million to help preserve and amplify authentic Black narratives.
