Steve Harvey Co-Hosts Ex-Husband Indicted on RICO Charges by Fani Willis (video)

Nearly $1 Million Stolen from Over 20 Victims

Man Indicted on RICO Charges for Alleged Fraud Involving Popular Radio Host

Earnest Williams, faces numerous charges including $1 million stolen from more than 20 victims and fraudulently marrying the popular radio host, Shirley Strawberry, from The Steve Harvey Morning Show, to have access to even more victims.

Investigation and Arraignment

Earnest Williams had his arraignment earlier this week. The 39-count indictment claims Williams knowingly defrauded dozens out of thousands of dollars from 2009 to 2022.

District Attorney’s Statement

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis described Williams as a con man. She exclusively told Channel 2 that they are pursuing charges under the Georgia Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act.

Fraudulent Marriage to Radio Host

The indictment alleges that Williams fraudulently married Shirley Strawberry, a co-host on the Steve Harvey Morning Show, to create an illusion of success and scam others. Documents reveal he was already married when he wed Strawberry and used this marriage to access more victims.

Extent of the Scam

Williams is accused of scamming at least 25 victims out of more than $750,000. He allegedly formed close or romantic relationships with many victims to take money, vehicles, RVs, and other property.

Public Defender’s Office Response

Williams is represented by the Public Defender’s Office, which declined to comment on the case. The indictment also names a co-defendant who allegedly pretended to be an attorney representing Williams.

Conclusion

This case highlights the extensive allegations against Earnest Williams and the ongoing investigation. Further details will be provided as the case progresses.
