42 SIGNS EMMY® NOMINATED WRITER AND SHOWRUNNER MONICA BELETSKY

Leading Los Angeles and London-based management and production company 42 announced today that it has signed writer, creator, showrunner, and executive producer Monica Beletsky. Beletsky is best known for serving as creator, showrunner, and executive producer on the Apple TV+ limited crime drama “Manhunt,” starring Emmy® award winner Tobias Menzies and Anthony Boyle.

MONICA BELETSKY

Prior to her work on “Manhunt,” Beletsky served as a writer/producer on the critically acclaimed third season of FX’s “Fargo,” starring Ewan McGregor, Carrie Coon and Mary Elizabeth Winstead. This season received 16 Emmy® nominations and 3 Golden Globe® nominations, and earned Beletsky a shared Emmy® nomination for Outstanding Limited Series, alongside Writers’ Guild Award and PGA Award nods. She was the only female writer/producer nominated in the Outstanding Limited Series category that year.

Beletsky was writer/producer for several other beloved series including NBC’s Emmy Award®-winning drama “Friday Night Lights,” NBC’s Golden Globe®-nominated, long standing comedy-drama “Parenthood,” and HBO’s Peabody Award-winning “The Leftovers” – the latter two of which she produced. From 2019 to 2022, Beletsky was on an overall deal at Apple TV+, and she has previously developed features for HBO Films, Tristar/Sony, and Amazon, in addition to developing TV pilots for FX and Amazon.

Throughout her career, Beletsky has continued to champion female & non-gender conforming writers, most notably by serving as an annual mentor for The Black List and Women in Film’s Episodic Writing Lab, which focuses on preparing women and people of underrepresented genders for careers in writing. During the pandemic, Beletsky endeavored to share her knowledge with those unable to attend film school by offering pro bono teaching through her social media accounts.

They also recently added managers Jake Miller and Karli Doumanis to the LA-based branch. Together, they represent an eclectic range of high profile and emerging actors, writers, directors, and producers, among the likes of Jesse Armstrong (“Succession”), Julian Fellowes (“Downton Abbey”), Ralph Fiennes (The Grand Budapest Hotel), Anna Sawai (“Shogun”), Nicholas Hoult (Mad Max: Fury Road), Charlie Brooker (“Black Mirror”), Lynne Ramsay (You Were Never Really Here), Krysty Wilson-Cairns (1917), Darius Marder (Sound of Metal), Abi Morgan (The Iron Lady), and Alena Smith (“Dickinson”).

Beletsky continues to be represented by Johnson Shapiro Slewett & Kole LLP and Persona PR.
