STANS: A Candid Look at Eminem Through His Fans’ Eyes (Video)

Eminem’s documentary STANS, produced by the rapper himself, is set to debut exclusively on Paramount+ on August 26 in the U.S., Canada, Latin America, and Brazil. Following its limited theatrical release earlier this month, the documentary will premiere in the U.K., Australia, Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland, and Austria on August 27, with Japan receiving its release on October 3.

STANS A Candid Look at Eminem Through His Fans' Eyes (Video)

The film draws inspiration from Eminem’s iconic 2000 hit “Stan,” which tells the story of an obsessed fan. The song’s immense cultural impact led to the term “stan” being added to the Oxford English Dictionary in 2017. STANS offers an intimate, real-world look into the lives of fans who relate deeply to the song and its themes, exploring their personal connections to Eminem’s music.

Directed by Steven Leckart, an Emmy-winning filmmaker, STANS goes beyond fandom to delve into the complicated relationship between Eminem and his massive public image. Using stylized reenactments, rare archival footage, and intimate interviews, the documentary takes viewers on a raw and personal journey through Eminem’s career and the passionate fanbase that has supported him along the way.

The documentary premiered at SXSW London and was followed by a fan-filled event in New York City, where Eminem made a surprise appearance. This documentary is a compelling mix of humor, emotion, and personal stories, offering a unique perspective on one of the world’s most influential artists and his devoted audience.

Produced by Eminem alongside Paul Rosenberg, Antoine Fuqua, and others, the documentary was made possible by Shady Films, Fuqua Films, Interscope Films, and MTV Entertainment Studios. It promises an unforgettable and candid look into the artist’s life and career, told through the eyes of those who have been shaped by his music.
