Madi Diaz has signed a global co-publishing deal with Warner Chappell Music (WCM) and Crush Music Publishing (CMP), marking a significant milestone in her career. Diaz, known for her emotionally raw songwriting and versatile musical style, is the first artist to join Crush’s new publishing division. Her latest album, Fatal Optimist, released on October 10, represents one of her most personal projects, delving deep into themes of heartache, self-discovery, and resilience.

Diaz’s impressive body of work includes the critically acclaimed Weird Faith (2024), which earned her two Grammy nominations, and History of a Feeling (2021).
Fatal Optimist, co-produced by Gabe Wax, showcases singles like “Feel Something,” “Ambivalence,” “Heavy Metal,” and “Why’d You Have to Bring Me Flowers.” This seventh studio album follows her Grammy-nominated Weird Faith and continues her exploration of deeply personal and universally relatable themes.
The Nashville-based singer-songwriter expressed her excitement about joining Crush and Warner Chappell, sharing how this new collaboration feels like a long-awaited dream. “Music is fun, but when you can do it with friends and people you love, it makes it all the better. I’m over the moon and honored to be the first signing to Crush Publishing,” Diaz said.
Diaz’s musical journey has spanned over a decade, with notable collaborations and tours. She has worked with artists such as Kacey Musgraves, Lizzy McAlpine, and Harry Styles, including performing as a guitarist and vocalist on Styles’ Love On Tour.
Diaz has also opened for Musgraves on her Deeper Well world tour, further solidifying her reputation as a trusted collaborator in the music industry. She has co-written and sung on tracks recorded by major talents like Maren Morris and Kesha, and her songs have been featured by Miranda Lambert and Charlie Worsham.
Now, as she embarks on a nationwide tour in support of Fatal Optimist, Madi Diaz continues to captivate audiences across the US, with upcoming stops in cities including New York City, Los Angeles, Washington DC, and Seattle.
