**Operation: Cozy Seeks Donations for Winter Clothing Drive to Help Detroiters in Need**
Detroit, MI – As winter approaches, Local 4, in partnership with the Center for Youth and Families, is launching Operation: Cozy, a winter clothing drive that invites the Detroit community to come together and provide essential warmth for those in need. The event will take place on November 12, 2025, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Kadesh Baptist Church located on Plymouth Road.
With temperatures dropping and the winter chill settling in, this initiative aims to collect new or gently-used winter apparel, including coats, hats, scarves, and gloves. “No one should have to endure the bitter cold without proper clothing,” said a spokesperson for Local 4. “Operation: Cozy offers a simple yet powerful way to show compassion and support our neighbors in need.”
Detroiters are encouraged to clean out their closets and bring any winter gear that can help make a difference this season. Donations will be distributed to local families through the Center for Youth and Families, addressing the urgent need for winter clothing among vulnerable populations in the city. All items should be in good condition, ensuring that every piece of clothing can provide warmth and comfort to someone in desperate need.
Community volunteers will be on-site to assist with the donation process and to ensure a smooth experience throughout the day. Local businesses and residents are also welcome to host their own collection drives leading up to the event.
Join Operation: Cozy this November 12 and contribute to a community effort that exemplifies the spirit of giving. Together, we can keep Detroit warm this winter—one coat at a time.
