Metro Detroit Weather Update: Stormy Skies Ahead as Cold Front Moves In

*Detroit, MI – November 14, 2025 – 11 p.m.* – As the sun sets on another chilly November day in Metro Detroit, the 4Warn Weather team is closely monitoring a cold front that promises to bring a mix of weather conditions over the next 48 hours.

Tonight, temperatures are expected to drop into the low 30s, creating a brisk and potentially icy environment. Our meteorologists advise residents to prepare for rapidly changing weather. “A significant drop in temperature is on the horizon, bringing with it a chance for rain and snow mix later tonight into Friday morning,” said Chief Meteorologist Andrew Johnson. “We recommend staying tuned to our latest updates to ensure you’re prepared for possible travel disruptions.”

As the cold front moves in, snowfall is anticipated to start early Friday, particularly in areas north of Detroit. Accumulations could reach up to 2 inches in some places, creating slick road conditions during the morning commute. In the southern regions, rain is expected, transitioning to sleet as temperatures continue to fall.

Furthermore, the National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for counties including Oakland and Macomb, urging drivers to exercise caution and leave extra time for travel.

Looking ahead, the weekend appears to bring a brief respite from the cold, with temperatures rising back into the mid-40s. However, another round of colder temperatures is expected as we head into next week, keeping the winter season’s early impacts in the forefront.
