Bartlett Police Investigate Shooting at Indoor Playground

Bartlett, TN

– A quiet Saturday afternoon at a local indoor playground turned chaotic as shots were fired, leaving the community in shock and raising serious questions about safety. Bartlett Police are currently investigating the incident, which occurred around 3 p.m. at the “Playtime Fun” center, a popular destination for families.

According to eyewitnesses, the playground was bustling with children enjoying their day when a heated altercation erupted between two men. The situation quickly escalated, and gunshots rang out, sending parents and children scrambling for safety. “It was terrifying,” described one mother, who wished to remain anonymous. “We just came here to have a good time. I never thought something like this could happen.”

Police arrived on the scene within minutes, at which point the suspects had already fled. Witnesses reported seeing at least two assailants involved in the shooting. Fortunately, no children were injured; however, a 32-year-old man sustained gunshot wounds and was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

In response to the shooting, Bartlett Police Chief Greg Duff held a press conference later that day, assuring the community that officers are working diligently to identify the suspects. “This is a tragic incident, and we understand the concern it brings to our families,” Chief Duff stated. “Our detectives are following up on all leads and reviewing surveillance footage from the playground.”

As investigators continue to gather information, community members are left to process the frightening reality of violence encroaching on spaces meant for joy and play. The indoor playground has announced it will temporarily close its doors as police continue their investigation and prioritize the safety of their patrons.

Bartlett Police are urging anyone with information regarding the shooting to contact their department.
