*Springfield, IL – January 12, 2024* – A Springfield man is facing a slew of serious charges after a shooting incident that left multiple individuals injured on Saturday night. Local police announced today that 28-year-old Marcus Taylor has been charged with four counts of attempted murder, along with several firearm-related offenses.

The shooting erupted around 10 PM in the East Side neighborhood, where witnesses described a chaotic scene as gunfire rang out during a gathering outside a local bar. According to police reports, Taylor allegedly opened fire after a confrontation escalated, striking four people who were attending the event. Emergency responders were quickly on the scene and transported the victims to a nearby hospital. As of this morning, two remain in critical condition while the others are recovering from non-life-threatening injuries.
