BIRMINGHAM, AL – The historic Neely Theatre is undergoing a sweeping renovation, promising an array of exciting changes for patrons and performers alike! This beloved venue, which has been at the heart of local entertainment for decades, is set to receive a modern facelift while preserving its rich heritage.
Construction crews have begun extensive work on the exterior and interior of the theatre. Updates include state-of-the-art sound systems, enhanced seating arrangements, and a revamped lobby area designed to offer a more welcoming experience for visitors. “Our goal is to blend the classic charm of Neely Theatre with the latest technology to create an unforgettable atmosphere for all our guests,” said project manager Lisa Thompson during a tour of the site.
The renovations come as part of a larger initiative to revitalize Birmingham’s cultural scene, drawing in new audiences and encouraging local artists to showcase their talents. The first shows post-renovation are expected to debut in early 2024, featuring a mix of local productions and touring acts.
