Federal Marshals Storm Libertyville Home
Federal marshals stormed a home in Libertyville, Illinois, to rescue a 15-year-old girl reported missing from North Carolina. The intense scene unfolded on the 31,000 block of Very Bridge Road, as armed marshals entered the residence.
Details of the Abduction and Rescue
Authorities arrested the man at the home and rescued the teen, who was reported missing earlier this month. Investigators revealed that the suspect had met the girl online and convinced her to take a bus to Chicago. He picked her up and took her to his Libertyville home, where he sexually abused her.
Search Warrant Findings
A search warrant executed at the home uncovered a gun, thousands of ounces of cannabis, and other controlled substances. This discovery corroborated neighbors’ suspicions of ongoing drug activity at the residence.
Prior Criminal Activity
Neighbors reported frequent activity at the house and raised concerns about possible drug-related operations. The suspect had previously been arrested in June for reckless discharge of a firearm when he opened fire outside his home, with bullets striking a neighboring house.
Charges Filed
In connection to the recent arrest, the suspect faces multiple charges, including three counts of criminal sexual abuse, aggravated battery, unlawful possession of a firearm, and various drug-related offenses.
