Telemundo’s shaking things up with a new senior VP for unscripted content.
Telemundo has announced the appointment of Adrian Santucho as senior vice president of unscripted content. In his new role, he will oversee the development and production of diverse unscripted offerings, including reality shows, game shows, and music specials for both linear and streaming platforms. Reporting directly to Javier Pons, the chief content officer, Santucho aims to enhance Telemundo’s portfolio by streamlining the creative process and focusing on relevant content for its audience.
Adrian Santucho comes with a wealth of experience in the media sector, particularly in the realm of unscripted programming. As a well-respected figure in Spanish-language media, he has a track record of successfully managing large-scale production companies that cater to broadcasters, cable networks, and streaming services across Latin America and the United States. Pons expressed enthusiasm about Santucho’s addition, highlighting his extensive expertise in producing quality content.
With over 25 years in the industry, Santucho has earned accolades as an Emmy-winning media executive. His recent role as CEO and chief creative officer at 360-POWOW involved spearheading creative development for live specials and a variety of productions across major networks and streaming platforms. This deep understanding of the unscripted genre positions him well to lead Telemundo’s initiatives.
Prior to 360-POWOW, Santucho served as executive vice president at Univision Studios, where he managed current programming and non-scripted productions. His leadership contributed to the success of popular reality shows such as La Banda and Mira Quién Baila, along with major awards events like Premio Juventud and Premio Lo Nuestro. His career began at Endemol Argentina, where he held various leadership positions in Endemol’s branches in Mexico and the U.S. Hispanic market, eventually becoming CEO of Fremantle U.S. Hispanic and continued his work in Mexico and Latin America.
With his comprehensive experience and proven track record, Santucho is set to play a significant role in the future of Telemundo’s unscripted content, continuing to build on the network’s success in this competitive landscape.
