DETROIT, MI – In a bizarre yet heartwarming tale, a stranded alligator has found a new hope thanks to the compassionate actions of a Detroit woman. After the unfortunate passing of her son, she discovered an alligator confined in a six-foot aquarium within his bedroom. On November 18, seeking assistance, she reached out to Mark Rosenthal, founder of Animal Magic.
Upon arriving at the Detroit residence, Rosenthal was met with a sight that would tug at anyone’s heartstrings: a lonely alligator, now affectionately named “Navi-gator,” confined to an aquarium with little room to move. Understanding the urgent need for a better environment, Rosenthal acted swiftly to rescue the reptile.
Once transported to the sanctuary operated by Animal Magic, Navi-gator began to thrive, moving freely and adjusting better to a natural habitat. The change was nothing short of miraculous. “It’s amazing to see how quickly he acclimated,” Rosenthal shared during an interview with Local 4 Live, where he showcased the gator’s vibrant personality.
But the journey doesn’t end there. Navi-gator has been selected for transfer to a specialized sanctuary in Florida, a move that promises a more comfortable and appropriate living situation for the young alligator. As Rosenthal indicated, “This is a new chapter for Navi-gator, and we’re excited for what lies ahead.”
With the sunshine state on the horizon, Navi-gator is set to embark on a new adventure, leaving his Detroit confines behind. Stay tuned for more updates on this remarkable rescue!
