RadioFacts: DNice and Club Quarantine have revealed that industry legend Andre Harrell has died. He was 59. No further details have been given at this time. Harrell was planning a story detailing his tenure in the music industry. On May 3 his last Twitter post he tweeted a tribute to the late Heavy D. No word on what happened.

Harrell was born September 26, 1960, in The Bronx, New York and was the founder of the successful Uptown Records. He also served briefly as president/CEO of Motown Records. He started off as a rapper in the hip hop duo Dr. Jeckyll & Mr. Hyde. He was in the process of working on a feature TV special about his career. More details as they come. D-Nice announced Harrell’s passing during a set for Club Quarrantine.
