Stars and executive producers Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne were joined by cast members Luke Macfarlane, Carla Gallo, Beck Bennett, Guy Branum, Rachel Rosenbloom, Tre Hale, Andrew Lopez, and Vinny Thomas at the premiere event. The creative team behind the show also attended, including co-creators, directors, and co-writers Nicholas Stoller and Francesca Delbanco, along with executive producers James Weaver and Conor Welch.
Earlier in the week, Apple TV+ hosted a “Spotlight: Behind the Scenes of Platonic” event on July 28 at Apple The Grove in Los Angeles. During this special event, Rogen, Byrne, Macfarlane, Stoller, and Delbanco participated in a panel discussion moderated by Guy Branum. The panel provided insight into the inspiration for the show, the development of its beloved characters, and offered a sneak peek into the upcoming season.
Season 2 of “Platonic” picks up with Rogen and Byrne’s characters navigating mid-life hurdles—dealing with work, weddings, and personal crises. As they support each other through these challenges, their relationship is tested in unexpected ways. This season also introduces guest stars Aidy Bryant, Kyle Mooney, Beck Bennett, and Milo Manheim.
The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television, with Stoller’s Global Solutions at the helm. Executive producers include Byrne, Stoller, Delbanco, Welch, Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and James Weaver for Point Grey Pictures.
In addition to “Platonic,” Rogen stars in the critically acclaimed “The Studio” on Apple TV+, which recently received 23 Emmy Award nominations. Rogen co-wrote, directed, and executive produced the show alongside Goldberg. Byrne also stars in Apple TV+’s dark comedy “Physical.”
Apple TV+ has quickly become a dominant force in streaming, offering a wide range of original programming. Since its launch in 2019, the platform has garnered more awards and nominations faster than any other streaming service, including 580 wins and 2,787 nominations across films, documentaries, and series.
