Thieves Crash Rental Truck into CVS
Police are searching for a group of thieves who attempted to steal an ATM from a CVS store on Powers Ferry Road in Cobb County. The incident occurred around 3:00 a.m. on Wednesday morning when four suspects drove a U-Haul truck into the front doors of the pharmacy.
Failed Smash-and-Grab Attempt
Despite their efforts, the thieves were unable to steal the ATM. Surveillance footage shows the suspects attaching a large chain to the base of the ATM and attempting to drag it out with the truck. However, they could not move the machine and left empty-handed.
Store Damage and Clean-Up
The front of the store sustained significant damage, with cracked bricks and broken doors. Crews are working to repair the damage, and the store reopened a few hours after the incident.
Community Reaction
Local customers expressed concern but were relieved that no one was injured and no other businesses were affected. Police have not released images or descriptions of the suspects or the truck used in the attempt. They urge anyone with information to contact Cobb County Police detectives.
