The attacks on B. Smith’s husband for having a girlfriend while his famous wife, former restaurant mogul B. Smith is in the throes of Alzheimer’s, have been monumental. As he explains people don’t understand what it is like to be in a situation like this and handling it alone. B. was diagnosed a few years ago and her husband admits the situation has taken a huge toll on him as her caretaker. Recently he announced he has started dating a woman the couple has known for years. The women is helping to take care of B. and the situation is awkward to, especially women, who feel her husband should not have a girlfriend during this crucial time in B.’s life.
