Bartlett Residents Facing Water Cuts as Crews Work to Repair Broken Main
BARTLETT, TN – In an unexpected disruption, several neighborhoods in Bartlett found themselves without water Tuesday afternoon as city crews scrambled to fix a broken water main. Reports of low water pressure began flooding in early in the day, and by noon, officials confirmed a significant issue on a main line that serves multiple areas.
Residents in the affected regions, including parts of Old Town and nearby communities, took to social media to voice their frustrations. “I had just filled my bathtub when the water pressure dropped completely,” said local resident Amy Jenkins. “It’s a real inconvenience, especially with families at home.”
City officials quickly mobilized their response teams, deploying specialized crews to assess the damage. The site of the break, located near the intersection of Bartlett Boulevard and Appling Road, saw multiple trucks and workers in fluorescent vests, digging deep into the ground. “We expect to have this fixed by the evening,” said Public Works Supervisor Mike Rodriguez. “Our team is working diligently to replace the damaged sections of the mainline and restore water service as soon as possible.”
As the repair work continues, residents are advised to conserve water and avoid any unnecessary usage. Temporary water stations are being set up throughout the community for those in urgent need. “We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding during this time,” Rodriguez added.
City officials anticipate that normal water service will be restored by late Tuesday evening, but they are urging residents to stay updated via the city’s website and social media channels for any further developments. Meanwhile, the community remains hopeful for a swift resolution to the crisis.
