BET’s The Next Big Thing, a 10-episode docu-music competition aimed at uncovering ‘tomorrow’s superstars’, has some serious industry power behind it. The project will be co-produced by three of today’s top female executives, Rikki Hughes, Holly Carter, and Tina Davis.Rikki Hughes is an EMMY® and GRAMMY® Award-winning film and television producer. Recently, Ms. Hughes has won awards for Netflix’s Equinamity, and other credits include The Age of Spin & Depp in the Heart of Texas, HBO’s All Def Comedy, and her history as a collaborator with Dave Chappelle.Holly Carter is the CEO and founder of the multi-platinum boutique production company Relevé Entertainment, which has managed a number of multi-platinum award-winning artists such as Kirk Franklin, Michelle Williams, and Usher. Her other credits include A&E’s The Sheffields, BET’s The Sheards, and Oxygen’s Preachers Of.Tina Davis founded Phase Too, Inc., discovered and has managed Chris Brown, and has held prominent executive positions at Def Jam and Empire, among others. She will figure prominently on-screen as a show-lead, working with producer Zaytoven to nurture the talent of up-and-coming artists.On the show, Ms. Davis states:”This show is for all of the artists that don’t have access to the best vocal coaches, trainers, choreographers, writers, producers, and glam squads to take their career to the next level.
