Brazilian independent record label GR6, home to artists like Perera DJ, Nilo, MC PH, and DJay W, has strengthened its collaboration with Virgin Music Group, extending a partnership that began in 2020 well into the next decade.

GR6, led by Founder & CEO Rodrigo Oliveira, is among Brazil’s most successful independent labels, ranked in the Top 10 Brazilian independent labels by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) earlier this year. The label also scored one of the top ten songs of 2024 in Brazil with “Let’s Go 4.”
Cris Garcia Falcão, General Manager, Latin America, and Managing Director of Artist and Label Strategy at Virgin Music Group, praised GR6’s impact: “Rodrigo has built one of Brazil’s most important and enduring independent record labels by discovering and backing a collection of singular career artists who together have had an enormous impact on music culture in Brazil and around the world.”
GR6 is gearing up for “GR6 Historias,” one of its most ambitious projects yet. The release will feature a 60-track compilation of re-recorded hits from the label’s catalog, reimagined by popular Brazilian artists including MC Livinho, MC Davi, MC Don Juan, MC Kevinho, MC Neguinho do Kaxeta, among others.
The project is being created in collaboration with KondZilla, the influential Brazilian label head and music video producer.
Rodrigo Oliveira reflected on the ongoing partnership: “Cris Falcão and everyone at Virgin Music Group has been an incredible partner to us at GR6 over these last five years.
We look forward to continuing to work together to create extraordinary opportunities for Brazilian artists to succeed on the global stage. ‘GR6 Historias’ will really showcase our repertoire to our global community of fans.”
