It’s been SO long since LA has hosted anything for the music industry I was damn near blown over when Capitol and Motown records hosted a lot party last night. I was thinking it was just a tour of the facilities but I was not aware of what was in store. I ran into industry friends I have not seen in YEARS and it was GREAT to see music industry history merge from ALL generations, genres and formats (18-80) in one space. I honestly don’t believe I have ever seen that. It was great to see Capitol SVP Azim Rashid and Motown’s President of Urban Music/Co-head of creative at Universal Music Publishing Group U.S, Ethiopia Habtemarium as well as many staff members from both labels. An amazing display of Capitol and Motown’s history was posted in a gallery on the premises of never before seen pictures of major artists like The Jackson 5, Marvin Gaye and more. I have a great feeling about Azim and Ethiopia bringing a great new era to the music industry like we have yet to see and we are honored to have them as clients of TheIndustry.biz . Many celebrities stopped by like Ne-Yo, Sam Smith, Will i Am and more and there were hundreds of industry people there like Big Jon Platt, Ken Wilson, Michael Williams and others. We are awaiting more pictures and will post.
