On Wednesday, a Florida man was kicked off of a flight with United Airlines for using women’s underwear as a face mask.
Shortly after boarding, Adam Jenne was confronted by a United Airlines flight attendant about his non-compliance with COVID-19 protocols. Jenne was then asked to leave the flight as his mask did not comply with the airline’s mask regulations.
In compliance with federal law, United Airlines has to enforce a mask mandate in which passengers, ages 2 and older, are required to wear a face mask that fully covers their nose and mouth without holes or vents.
In a video filmed by another passenger, Jenne can be seen sporting a pair of bright red women’s underwear on his face when a flight attendant asks him to leave. Others can also be seen following Jenne off of the flight in an impromptu act of solidarity.
As bizarre as this all may seem, it actually isn’t the first time the Florida man was kicked off of a flight for a prank like this.
Reportedly, Jenne had been kicked off of a Delta Airlines flight the month prior for wearing women’s underwear as a form of face covering.
In an interview with Fox Business, Jenne explained his reasoning behind these strange incidents.
“There’s nothing more absurd than– A, having to wear a mask… until I get to cruising altitude so that I can order Tito’s by the double and snack on pretzels… And illustrating that absurdity by wearing women’s underwear on my face sounds perfect.”
Evidently, Jenne has been banned from flying with United Airlines until his case can be investigated and reviewed by the Passenger Incident Review Committee (PIRC).
