CBS SPORTS RADIO SETS TALENT LINEUP FOR WEEKDAY HOURLY FEATURES
The “CBS Sports Minute” To Be Delivered By An Array Of Former Athletes,
Broadcasters And Respected Journalists
CBS Sports Radio today named a diverse roster of highly recognizable personalities to deliver the CBS Sports Minute beginning on Tuesday, September 4. The sixty-second commentaries can be heard near the top of every hour (weekdays, 6:00AM-7:00PM) on the close to 90 affiliated Radio Stations of the network including outlets in nine of the Top 10 markets.
 BOOMER ESIASON:
Esiason is entering his 11th year as a studio analyst for THE NFL TODAY, the CBS Television Network’s NFL pre-game show. He also co-hosts morning drive on 660 Sports Radio WFAN in New York with partner Craig Carton. As one of the most successful quarterbacks in the history of the NFL, Esiason quarterbacked the Cincinnati Bengals, New York Jets and Arizona Cardinals during his career, and reached many milestones, including being named the 1988 NFL MVP, earning two Pro Bowl bids, and leading the Bengals to Super Bowl XXIII.Â
JOHN FEINSTEIN:
Feinstein is the bestselling author of One on One, Moment of Glory, Are You Kidding Me? DOUG GOTTLIEB:
Gottlieb recently signed a multi-platform agreement with CBS and will contribute to CBS Sports Radio, CBS Sports, CBS Sports Network and www.cbssports.com. Prior to joining CBS, he was a college basketball analyst on ESPN and host of The Doug Gottlieb Show on ESPN Radio. Gottlieb also co-hosted a midday sports talk show at WWLS-AM in Oklahoma City, Okla.
He was a college basketball point guard at Notre Dame and Oklahoma State, and was graduated with a marketing degree from Oklahoma State in 2000, holding every assists record at OSU and in the Big 12 Conference. Gottlieb is tenth all-time in assists in NCAA history.Â
TOM TOLBERT:
A former NBA power forward, Tolbert is in his 16th year working as an afternoon talk show host at KNBR radio in San Francisco. He has also served as a color commentator for NBA telecasts on NBC, ABC and ESPN, and was nominated for an Emmy in 2002. In 2003, Tolbert was on the team that called the NBA Finals. He played college basketball at UC Irvine and Cerritos College before transferring to the University Arizona helping lead the Wildcats to an appearance in the 1988 Final Four.
Tolbert was a second round draft pick of the Charlotte Hornets, and spent seven seasons playing for a number of NBA teams, including the Golden State Warriors, Orlando Magic and Los Angeles Clippers. CBS Sports Radio will offer around-the-clock national sports coverage and programming, harnessing the power and resources of CBS RADIO and the award-winning CBS Sports.
High-profile figures from CBS Sports, CBS Sports Network and CBSSports.com will play a prominent role on CBS Sports Radio which will reach more than 10 million listeners at launch. The 24/7 all-sports talk radio lineup debuts on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013.
