Netflix and iHeartMedia Explore Video Podcast Deal

In a notable development, Netflix is reportedly nearing a deal with iHeartMedia to bring around 20 video podcasts to its platform. This move would necessitate the removal of these shows’ full episodes from YouTube, further intensifying the competition in the podcasting space. Should the agreement finalize, it would signify Netflix’s most assertive entry into video podcasts, seeking to rival YouTube’s established dominance in podcast viewership. While Netflix has previously partnered with Spotify for similar endeavors, the complexities of video rights ownership may complicate negotiations. The ongoing evolution in the podcast industry, particularly towards video content, continues to reshape platform dynamics.
