Radio Facts: CHICAGO ““ A veteran of Chicago, New York, Boston, and Los Angeles radio, Tommy Edwards has joined AccuRadio to oversee the company’s “Chicago Radio Online” set of online streaming music channels. He will manage the programming and voice talent for the channels, AccuRadio founder and CEO Kurt Hanson and COO John Gehron announced today.
Edwards is best known as a Program Director of Chicago’s renowned Top 40 “Musicradio WLS” in the early 1970s and as “Lil’ Tommy” on Radio Hall of Famer Larry Lujack’s “Animal Stories” segments. Edwards’s other major-market PD positions included WODS-FM/Boston and KCBS-FM/Los Angeles.
AccuRadio’s Chicago Radio Online (https://www.chicagoradioonline.com/) is a seven-channel Internet radio station crafted for fans of legendary Chicago radio and Chicago radio personalities. Anchored by the popular “Chitown Smooth Jazz” and “Chicago’s Best Oldies” channels, it also features Classic Rock, Adult Contemporary, “Real” Oldies (pop stand ards), Classic Hits, and Love Songs ““ all with a decidedly “Chicago” style.
