A child killed a man after he assaulted his mother and another minor, police said. After a shooting in a home on Monday night, officials are investigating the death of the 26-year-old-man in Pulaski County, Kentucky.
Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office identified Travis Popplewell of Stanford. According to NBC12, police said in the house on Poplar Estates Road in Somerset, Popplewell was assaulting his girlfriend and another child when the woman’s other son shot him with a handgun.
Police revealed the shooting took place in the woman’s home around 8 p.m.
The coroner pronounced Popplewell dead at the scene, according to deputies. The name of the woman and the two minors involved in the incident were not given by the police. It is unclear who owns the gun.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, an investigation into the death is underway. No arrests have been made so far.
The Sheriff’s Office said once the investigation is complete, the Pulaski County Attorney’s Office will be presented with the findings.

The nonprofit organization has reported that roughly every minute, 20 people are abused by their intimate partners.
