Circle of Sisters, the largest EXPO in New York City uniting, motivating and celebrating women of color, is excited to welcome celebrity chefs Bobby Brown, Pat Neely, Melba Wilson, Madison Cowan, and more* to the stage for this year’s Cooking Pavilion, sponsored by HealthFirst.
The HealthFirst Cooking Pavilion is the tastiest part of Circle of Sisters! In between exploring the 200+ vendors and listening in on the various panels and breakout sessions, EXPO attendees can watch cooking demonstrations from some of the nation’s best culinary masters, complete with samples and giveaways to complete your kitchen décor.

While R&B superstar Bobby Brown may be best known for his renowned music career, as a solo artist and part of the group New Edition, his latest venture is all about food!
After successfully launching his new BBQ sauce line in 2014, Bobby stopped by last year’s Circle of Sisters for a live demonstration to a packed house. Not only were attendees able to catch the Grammy Award winner fire up some amazing BBQ on the stage, but they also had a chance to purchase their own bottles of Bobby Brown BBQ sauces from the on-site vendor booth.
Circle of Sisters is excited to have Bobby back at the 2015 HealthFirst Cooking Pavilion, whipping up some more incredible diBobby Brown Foods for purchase to take home!On Saturday, October 17th, the HealthFirst Cooking Pavilion will feature the best of Harlem with “Harlem Goes Midtown,” showcasing the classic staples and mouthwatering new trends from the uptown region.
Chef Melba Wilson, owner of Melba’s Restaurant, a New York landmark frequented by music, television and movie stars, will provide a live demonstration of some of her amazing comfort food and family recipes. Chef Melba has been featured on a wide array of cooking shows and news segments, including Food Network’s Throwdown with Bobby Flay and Fox’s Good Day New York.
Prior to opening her own restaurant, Chef Melba worked at the iconic Sylvia’s Restaurant in Harlem, where Celebrity Chef Nikki Shaw of WBLS’ “Today’s Flavor”, a daily segment featuring celebrity food favorites, will serve as the host for the HealthFirst Cooking Pavilion during the two-day event. On October 17th and October 18th WBLS 107.5 FM, your #1 source for R&B, 1190 WLIB AM, your home for Gospel & Inspiration, and WQHT HOT 97 FM, the #1 station for Hip-Hop in the world, host Circle of Sisters, the premier EXPO in New York where women of color come together to celebrate one another’s businesses, discuss relationships, health trends and financial advice, and catch-up on the latest fashion styles and more.
Each day, attendees peruse over 200 upcoming and establibreakout sessions discussing a range of topics from marriage advice from celebrity couples to best social media practices to children to understanding health insurance, and check out the radio stations’ live broadcast and performances stages, with celebrity interviews and acts throughout the two-day event.
Saturday night culminates in the R&B concert at the Theatre at Madison Square Garden, while Sunday concludes with the Gospel Explosion featuring Tasha Cobbs, Tina Campbell, Casey J. and more at the Jacob Javits Center.
Tickets for the EXPO are also on-sale now. Tickets are $20 per day in advance, $25 at the door, and can be purchased on CircleofSisters.com.
The EXPO runs from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, October 17th and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, October 18th. Separate tickets are required for the R&B and Gospel Explosion concerts.
