**Community Unites for ‘Operation: Cozy’ Winter Clothing Drive in Detroit**
DETROIT — As the chill of winter approaches, the Detroit community is once again demonstrating its spirit of generosity with “Operation: Cozy,” a dedicated winter clothing drive set to take place on November 12, 2025. From 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Kadesh Baptist Church on Plymouth Road will transform into a hub of warmth, welcoming donations from residents eager to support those in need.
In collaboration with Local 4 and the Center for Youth and Families, the initiative aims to collect new or gently used winter essentials, including coats, hats, scarves, and gloves. With winter temperatures often plummeting in Michigan, the organizers stress the urgency of keeping both children and adults warm.
“Every piece counts,” said organizer and Local 4 representative, Lisa Jackson. “With the cold weather around the corner, we want to ensure that no one in our community has to face winter unprepared. We encourage everyone to dig into their closets, bring what they can, and share the warmth.”
